Do you have some tips for staying safe while using The Grid?

February 16th, 2009

To be as safe as possible, certain things should always be kept between you, your family and your friends. These would be your mobile number, your email address, and your residential address.

  • DO NOT provide this information on any of The Grids public platforms. Friends you make on The Grid belong to a virtual world. We discourage you from meeting strangers you’ve met online in real life but encourage you to be vigilant and cautious if that is what you choose. Remember, people may not be who you think they are!
  • The Grid provides approximate location information. With this in mind, please make sure that strangers aren’t able to locate and identify you through The Grid. Always avoid posting public messages that provide your exact location.
  • Protect the rights of all The Grid users by reporting abuses of the platform. Harassment and objectionable content will not be tolerated. The idea is that we all look after each other and keep the platform clean.
